Problems with Ftp Servers Timeout

Postby MichaelKreich » Mon May 26, 2008 9:07 am

Hi,

we have a rather anoying problem when using the sdk for downloads that take a long time:

- The server's timeout is set to 120sec.
- when downloading a file that takes longer than 120sec to process, the client gets kicked, then tries to reconnect and resume the download. This does fail.

Here's the TurboFTP log:

when the sdk's internal retry fails, i compare the filesizes of the local and the remote file, if they differ i rerun the whole process by hand. then i get a "can't connect" exception from the ftp sdk.

Do you have the similar problem when you manually download the file?

No, when i download the file using the TurboFtp application, it works like it should.
Even reinitializing the FtpClient class doesn't help, then it says "can't connect".

Still unclear why you receive 0x3 ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND error. Is the local path 'Y:\Data\' a network share? If so try with a UNC. Also use with the latest version to see it the problem persists.

Which specimen would you say you are running? The methodology gets stuck at LIST summon, which is by all accounts a system/ firewall issue. You may take a stab at swapping to dynamic mode utilizing the Isusepasv property.
