Conditional rename using Sync service?

Postby gftarbert » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:04 pm

I don't know if this is possible or not, but I would like to know if I can somehow configure a scheduled job to protect my local files from being overwritten during a download operation.

Let's say I have a file named File1.txt locally that was downloaded from a remote FTP site. Then, someone posted a different file to the FTP site with the same name (File1.txt) accidentally, when they should have named it File2.txt. When my scheduled job runs, it will download File1.txt and overwrite my local copy as far as I can tell. I looked at the Confirmation settings, but it looks like that only applies when you are not running scheduled jobs.

Is there a way to specify during a scheduled job that if a file with the same name already exists locally, and the remote version of the file is different, then to download the remote version, but rename it locally with like a timestamp or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated! We currently have 4 days remaining on our trial version, and unfortunately this option could make or break the purchase of the software as far as management is concerned.
